Bernadine Smith

Bernadine Smith, age 61, of Bel Air, Maryland, and residing in Ashland, Virginia the past two years, passed away on June 6, 2020. Born in Havre de Grace, MD, she was the daughter of the late William and Bertha Lillian Smith. She was a restaurant manager for over 25 years, lastly at Cactus Willie’s. A tough lady with a big heart, Bernadine was a beloved mother figure to numerous nieces and nephews and their children, as well as to the young people on her staff.

Bernadine is survived by her brother, William Smith III of Ashland, VA, Helen V. Lam and husband, Billy, of Abingdon, MD, Valeria M. Cornwell of North East, MD, and Diane B. Vanhoozer of Aberdeen, MD. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her sisters, Barbara Ann Kendel, Anne Marie Anthony, and her twin, Pauline Smith.
