BENJAMIN GLASCO DAVIS, age 58, of Churchville, MD, died on March 16, 2006 at the Perry Point VA Medical Center in Perryville, MD. Born in Havre de Grace, MD, he was the son of the late Robert C. and Esther Elmira Smith Davis. He had retired as a District Supervisor after 30 years of service with the Department of Public Works Highway Division. He served his country in the US Army. He played softball with the Boones Farm Playboys, basketball with the Sungods, and enjoyed coaching girls’ softball teams in the summer. He was a member of American Legion Post 55.
Mr. Davis is survived by a son, Tim Davis of Pennsylvania; two daughters, Kim Davis of Aberdeen, MD and Celestine Huff of Edgewood, MD; two brothers, Reggie Davis of Aberdeen, MD and Eric Davis of Baltimore, MD; one sister, Robin Hatcher of Baltimore, MD; 7 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by his wife, Holly Niblett-Davis of Airville, PA.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Davis was predeceased by a brother, Robert Davis.
Pallbearers will be Claude Brown and Ernest Gladden. Honorary pallbearers will be the Sun Gods (Basketball Team).
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 572, Bel Air, MD 21014.
