Benjamin David Franklin Hanson, age 42, of Leander, TX, passed away on July 9, 2014 at his home. Born in Baltimore, MD, he is the son of David M. Hanson, and stepson of, Dinah G. Hanson of Bel Air. MD and son of Brenda J. (DePasquale) Hanson of Timonium, MD. A 1989 graduate of John Carroll High School, he attended Loyola University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1993 and Embry-Riddle University for post-graduate work in Aerospace Engineering. An Associate Professor, he taught Computer Game Design at St. Edwards University in Austin, TX and also worked most recently with Night Owl Games. He enjoyed cooking, shooting, traveling, gaming and his dogs. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the American Kennel Club where his interest was in Alaskan Malamutes and Great Danes.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sisters, Tammy L. Barber of Edgewater and Courtney H. Anderson and husband, Peter, of Silver Spring; and nieces and nephews, Tara, Daniel and Grace Barber, and twins, Finley and Maeve Anderson.
