Basil Kent Kocher

December 30, 1949 — March 29, 2017

Basil Kent Kocher, age 67, of Abingdon, MD passed away on March 29, 2017 at his home. Born in New Martinsville, WV, he was the son of Ray Edward and Louise (Kimble) Kocher. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard and a graduate of West Virginia University. In his earlier years, he managed K-Mart stores in Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Michigan, and Maryland for 18 years. From 1990-1997, he and his wife owned The Little Professor Book Center at the Festival of Bel Air, during which time he was on the Literacy Council for Harford County. The last 18 years of his career were spent in finance at Lockheed Martin as a Capital Planner. A very thoughtful person, he was a great father and husband who was always there for his family and friends.

Mr. Kocher is survived by his wife, Judith L. Kocher; two sons, Justin D. Kocher (Leah N.) and Benjamin K. Kocher; sister, RaeLynn Wahl; brother, Scott Kocher; and grandchild, Alexis K. Kocher.
