Barbara W. Ehlers (September 21, 1928-August 11, 2011) Barbara Weaver Warfield Ehlers of Forest Hill, Maryland, died peacefully on Thursday morning, August 11, 2011. She was 82. Born September 21, 1928, in Pylesville, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Hassell A. and Joyce P. (Fender) Weaver. She was the wife of Reverend William W. Ehlers. She was predeceased by her husband of 36 years Roy D. Warfield, Jr. Mrs. Warfield-Ehlers attended Mary Washington College. She was devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, and played a major role in the family dairy farming operation. In later years she managed the Forest Hill farm where she spent her life. She studied piano and organ, and was an avid art lover. Her uncle N. Lloyd Weaver, was an important Harford County artist, and Mrs. Warfield-Ehlers was active in archiving his work and in mounting a showing at Liriodendron, where she was on the board of directors. She received her RN Certification from Harford Community College and served at Fallston General Hospital. She was a member of Centre United Methodist Church in Forest Hill, and was an organist there for many years. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Ehlers is survived by her children, Robert l. Warfield and wife, Roberta Blaney, David W. Warfield and wife, Megan Steinbeck, and daugther Sally J. Warfield and husband David P. Crowl, all of Forest Hill; her grandchildren, Melissa Benson of Forest Hill, Andrew Warfield of Bel Air, Heather Robinson of Windsor, Pa., Mark McGovern of Forest Hill, Abel McGovern of Bel Air, Joshua Warfield of Timonium, and Matthew Warfield, Rachel Younghans, and Sara Warfield, all of Forest Hill. She had six great grandchildren. A son Thomas A. Warfield predeceased Mrs. Ehlers. A Memorial Service celebrating Barbara's life will be held at 11 AM Saturday, September10, 2011, at Centre United MethodistChurch in Forest Hill, with the Reverend Robert Hunter officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the family home, Cedar Heights Farm on Grafton Shop Road in Forest Hill In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Harford Community College Foundation,to support nursing scholarships.
