Barbara S. Rheinhardt, age 83, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away on July 13, 2024, at the Senator Bob Hooper House in Forest Hill, Maryland. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of Samuel Williams Slade and Eva Owings Slade.

Barbara was a devoted member of Bel Air United Methodist Church, where she was known for her faith, warm smile, and dedication to her church family through many service and volunteer projects. She sang in choirs throughout her life and enjoyed singing at church, showcasing her beautiful voice. Barbara enjoyed coordinating gatherings with friends from Christ Church in Forest Hill and socializing with friends at Brightview Avondell, where she lived for the past two and a half years. She was cherished as a wonderful friend.

Family was central to Barbara's life. In her earlier years, she studied ballet and was known for dancing whenever she could. Her career began in teaching and later transitioned into banking, reflecting her diverse talents. Above all, Barbara was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and godmother.

Her creativity shone through her hobbies, including sewing, quilting, cross-stitch, photography, gardening, and baking. She had a particular fondness for sweets, especially chocolate and ice cream.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Sherri R. (Scott) Leathers; two sons, Keith (Alexia) Rheinhardt and Brian (Jessica) Rheinhardt; four grandchildren, Hannah, Ava, Mason, and Jonah; her sister Martha and brother-in-law Jim Hackett; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Mary Ellen Gunther.

Barbara will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bel Air United Methodist Church.
