Barbara K. Hunt

January 8, 1938 — June 26, 2014

Barbara K. Hunt, age 76, of Abingdon, MD passed away on June 26, 2014 at Forest Hill Health and Rehabilitation in Forest Hill. Born in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Harry August Smith and Katherine Birkmire. A 1955 graduate of Bel Air High School, she retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground as an Administrative Assistant after 30 years of service. She was a lifelong active member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church, where she was married 57 years ago, and was devoted to her family.

Mrs. Hunt is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert Neal Hunt; son, Jeffrey N. Hunt and wife, Sandra, of Edgewood; daughters, Brenda L. Lewis and husband, J. Wayne, of Abingdon and Debora A. Colflesh of Greenwood, DE; brothers, James Smith of Joppa and Harry Smith of Seattle, WA; grandchildren, Jason and Ashley Lewis, Adam Hunt and Amanda Wagner; and great grandchildren, Jordan and Naveah Lewis. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Robert Smith.
