Ava Smythers Fender

AVA SMYTHERS FENDER, age 78, of Cana, VA, formerly of Bel Air, died on Monday, December 11, 2006 at her home. Born in Carroll County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Elbert Earley and Amanda Landerth Smythers.

Mrs. Smythers is survived by her husband, Fred Fender of Cana, VA; one daughter, Diana Parker of Chambersburg, PA; one son, Dennis Fender and his wife Denise of Temple, TX; two brothers, Ohmer Smythers of Mt. Airy, NC and William Smythers of Woodlawn, MD; one sister, Burney Winesett of Woodlawn, MD; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Edward Paul Fender and a sister, Delphia Newman.

Pallbearers were Travor Parker, Clinton Tayson, Ronald Wood, Danny Tayson, Joey Tayson and Paul Knoph.
