Aurora Centeno Santos

Aurora Centeno Santos, age 82, of Abingdon, MD passed away on January 13, 2013 at her home. Born in Malolos Bulacan, Philippines, she was the daughter of the late Crisanto and Gregoria Javier Centeno. At the age of 9, her older brother cared for her due to her mother's illness. She moved to the United States in 2001 and became a U.S. Citizen in 2007. A very outgoing person, she enjoyed talking with people and helping those in need. She was very charming and friendly and loved to sing and entertain. She cared for her relatives and loved flower gardening and sewing clothes, which she learned to do from her brother who was a tailor.

Mrs. Santos is survived by her husband, Gabriel C. Santos; sons, Garizaldy C. Santos and wife, Evelyn, and Gilbert C. Santos, all of the Philippines; daughter, Lily Mercado and husband, Jose, of Abingdon, MD; daughter-in-law, Proserfina Santos of the Philippines; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Gabriel C. Santos III; brothers, Ricardo, Romualdo and Constantino Centeno; and sisters, Rosita Centeno, Maria Santos and Gloria Ramos.
