AUGUST JAMES KIMPEL, SR. age 78, of Belcamp, died at his daughter’s residence in Parkville on December 6, 2003. Born in Baltimore, he was the son of the late August James and Mary Rita Trainor Kimpel. He had retired from Bethlehem Steel after 39 years of service as a roller in the 68 mill. A Harford County resident for 30 years, he resided for 12 years in Sebring, Florida. He enjoyed motorcycles, camping, and sports. He enjoyed big band music and dancing. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II in the European Campaign.
Mr. Kimpel is survived by his wife of 47 years, Anna Frances Straub Kimpel; two sons, Edward James Kimpel of Parkville; August James Kimpel, Jr. of Stuart, Florida; one daughter, Linda Ann Vain of Parkville; six grandchildren, Andrew J. Kimpel of Parkville; Rita A. Kimpel of Parkville; Richard D. Vain, Jr. of Parkville; Amanda N. Vain of Parkville; Tristan J. Kimpel of Stuart, Florida; Sean A. Kimpel of Stuart, Florida; and one great-granddaughter, Ainsley G. Witmer of Parkville. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one sister, Margaret G. Anderson.
