Audrey Simmons Hawks

Audrey Simmons Hawks, age 94, of Churchville, Maryland passed away on November 17, 2022 at her home. Born in Carsins Run, Maryland, she was the daughter of Coy and Lillie (Holcomb) Simmons, and wife of the late James Hawks. A homemaker, Audrey was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, and was baptized in 1986. She helped with funeral meals, taught Sunday school, and was part of the Living Christmas Tree at its inception. She was a prior member of the Level Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary in the 1950s and was a past president.

Audrey is survived by her sons Jerry (Robin) Hawks and Brian (Jo Marie) Hawks; grandchildren Corey, Kyle, and Kelly; and sisters Joyce Amoss and Charlotte A. Harris.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers Dewey, Raymond, Ronald, and Larry Simmons; and sisters Doris Pennington and Avis Blakely.

Burial will be at Dublin Southern Cemetery on November 21.

A memorial service for family and friends will be planned at a later date.
