Audrey Elizabeth Gross, 94, of Woodleaf, North Carolina, formerly of Joppa, Maryland, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at the Novant Health Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury, NC on November 9, 2021.
She was the daughter of the late Thomas Eichelberger and Gertrude McCoy Eichelberger, born in Carroll County, Md. on May 14, 1927.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Howard A. Gross of Joppa, Md., brothers Robert, John Carroll, and George Eichelberger, and sister, Martha Tennyson. She was also preceded in death by her only grandson, Jonathan Gross.
She is survived by her only son, the Reverend Richard A. Gross and his wife Wanda of Woodleaf, NC where she has resided for the past four years and her sister, Doris Plummer of Maumelle, Arkansas.
She enjoyed country and gospel music, playing her guitar and singing. She was a faithful member of Oakdale Baptist Church and she attended Blaisé Baptist Church in Mocksville while living with her son. She and her husband spent a lot of time traveling and camping.
A celebration of life will be held at the Needmore Baptist Church, 1620 Mt. Vernon Road, Woodleaf, NC on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 2 PM. The family will receive guests after the service in the church fellowship hall.
Memorial gifts may be given to the Betty Ruth Hood Ladies Mission Circle of Oakdale Baptist Church in Spencer, NC or the Special Friends Ministry of Blaise Baptist Church in Mocksville, NC or to the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House at 1229 Statesville Boulevard, Salisbury, NC 28144.
