ARTHUR W. PFEFFER, age 73, of Bel Air died at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, on July 1, 2005. Born in Houston, Texas, he was the son of the late Arthur Bloesius and Edith Rose Arnold Pfeffer. He was retired from the U.S. Army having served from 1951 – 1972 during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Conflict. He had been awarded the silver star, the bronze star, the purple heart, the 2nd oak leaf cluster, the air medal 2nd oak leaf cluster, the meritorious service award, and the army commendation medallion. He worked for the Department of Natural Resources from 1972 to 1987 retiring as a forestry supervisor. He was a Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve. He graduated from the Texas Military Institute, San Antonio, Texas in 1950 and had attended Texas A&M and the University of Baltimore. He volunteered at the Humane Society of Harford County for five years. He belonged to the 11th Airborne Division Association and was a member of the DAV. He owned and showed at Mastiff Pet and was a member of the North and East Mastiff Fanciers. He owned and showed a 1931 Model A.
Mr. Pfeffer is survived by his wife whom he married in 1957, Jeanette E. Olson Pfeffer; two sons, Arthur W. Pfeffer, II, of Avondale, Pennsylvania and Bruce A. Pfeffer of Las Vegas, Nevada; a daughter-in-law, Donna Pfeffer of West Grove, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren, Sara Pfeffer of West Grove, Pennsylvania, Joseph Pfeffer of West Grove, Pennsylvania, and Melanie Pfeffer of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and a great grandson, Nyckoli Green of West Grove, Pennsylvania.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to any animal rescue group of your choice.
