Arthur Allen Newberry

Arthur Allen Newberry, son of Harold A. Newberry and Ruby E. Newberry (nee Petty), died on Monday, May 1, 2023. He was 81. Born and raised in Canton (Baltimore, MD) he graduated from Poly High School and entered the United States Navy. There he worked on diesel engines aboard ships. One of his vessels was the Walke 723. He was a mechanical engineer and a veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired from the Navy as Chief Warrant Officer 4.

In his career as a lifelong educator, he became a middle school teacher at General John Stricker Middle School. Then Art went on to be the Assistant Director at Calhoon MEBA Engineering School in Easton, MD where their auditorium is named after him. At the same time he taught mathematics at CCBC for 40 years as an adjunct professor. He was a busy man who always showed up early and got the job done. Later in life he went by Allen. Allen was a funny, sweet, smart, all-around nice guy who was very giving and loving.

Allen is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Jennifer L. Newberry. 

Allen will be greatly missed.
