Arthur "Art" Crouse, age 90, of Darlington, MD, passed away on February 25, 2013 at Stancill's Haven Assisted Living in Joppa, MD. Born in Darlington, he was the son of the late William Franklin and Docia Ellen Caudill Crouse and husband of the late Virginia Pauline Wood. During WWII he was a cook and baker at the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) Camp. He retired, after 19 years, from Edgewood Arsenal where he was the Head Sheet Metal Mechanic. After retirement he moved to Orange City, FL where he lived for 30 years. He loved fishing and enjoyed traveling and was a member, for over 50 years, of Stephenson-Masonic Lodge 135. He attended Porters Grove Baptist Church in Rising Sun, MD.
Mr. Crouse is survived by his son, Larry Crouse and wife Pat of Darlington; daughters, Carolyn Barber and husband Curtis of Bel Air, Diann Deckman and husband Lloyd and Cathy Rutherford and husband Dave both of Darlington; brothers, Melvin Crouse of Darlington and Herbert Crouse of Bel Air; sisters, Grace Rosenberger of Bel Air, Blanche Martin of Shrewsbury, PA and Opal Shumate of Elkton, MD. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his son, Ray Crouse and daughter, Janet Crouse.
Paul bearers will be Jeff Ramirez, Joshua Sawyers, Dennis Crouse, Dodson Brown, Ralph Patrick, and Leroy Testor.
