Arnold Schaper, of Aberdeen, MD, died at the age of 82 on October 23, 2016 at his home. He was born in Baltimore, MD to William Paul and Anna Marie (Nollmyer) Schaper. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served our country during the Korean War. He worked as a truck driver for Bethlehem Steel for 35 years and then for Maryland Paving where he retired from both. He raised many kinds of animals on the family farm and tended to his garden. He loved his John Deere tractors and working on them and also enjoyed watching Orioles baseball, Ravens football and stock car races. He was a lifetime member of Rosedale VFW Post #6505 and a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Elizabeth Ann Schaper; his daughters, Deborah L. Schaper of Front Royal, VA, Nina E. Stup (David) of Glen Burnie and Karen S. Hiob (Gary) of Darlington; grandchildren, Christopher R. Duff of White Marsh, Tiffany L. Schaper of Bryansville, PA, Nicole L. Reed of Edgemere, Tyler D. Hiob of Darlington and Kellee A. Hiob of Darlington; and great-grandson, James M. Reed of Edgemere. He is also survived by brothers and sisters.
