Armada P. Thomas

Armada P. Thomas, age 93, of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away on March 24, 2013 at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace, MD. Born in West Blocton, AL, she was the daughter of the late Johnny Luther and Mary Jane Dailey Goggins and wife, for 51 years, of the late Charles Shepard Thomas Jr. A resident of Harford County for 30 years, she had worked as a hairdresser, was a member of the Red Hat Society and belonged to the Flying Geese Quilting Club. She was a beautiful quilter and had won 2nd place in the State Fair for a quilt she had entered. She also made, by hand, special quilts for each child and grandchild and was teaching her great-grandchildren how to quilt. She loved life and loved to travel the world.

Mrs. Thomas is survived by her daughters, Mary K. Manos and Jo Ann Merida both of Edgewood; brother, Kenneth Goggins of CA; sisters, Vera Weldon of FL and Faye Bice of AL; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son-in-law, Kenneth Manos.

A private graveside service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia at a later date.
