Antonio J. "Tony" Ricchiazzi, age 92, of Havre de Grace, Maryland passed away on December 27, 2022 at his home. Growing up in Barre, Massachusetts, he was the son of Antonio and Salvatore (Trifilo) Ricchiazzi and husband of the late Judith (Black) Ricchiazzi. He was a graduate of the Barre High School class of 1948. Soon after graduating he enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving in the Korean War. After 4 years in the Navy, he studied engineering at Oklahoma A&M College, graduating in 1956. He began his engineering career at Aberdeen Proving Ground and retired after 30 years of service in the Ballistics Research Lab. After retirement he worked as a consultant for Battelle until he was 70 years old.
Tony enjoyed spending time with his 4 children and taking them to visit relatives in his hometown of Barre, MA. In his later years, he loved being with his grandchildren and watching them grow. He enjoyed watching war movies and westerns and loved listening to the big bands and classical music. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church - Aberdeen and the Knights of Columbus.
Antonio is survived by his daughters, Judith Ann Nielsen, Lisa G. Ricchiazzi and Anne Niederwemmer; son, Anthony Joseph Ricchiazzi; grandchildren, Eric J. Niederwemmer, Judith Mae Nielsen, Jessica P. Niederwemmer and Nina Meili Ricchiazzi; great-grandchildren, Marlee and Elliott Niederwemmer; and sisters, Mary Esteves, Camilla Rice and Rose Dorsey.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Rosario Ricchiazzi, Joseph Ricchiazzi and Santos Ricchiazzi.
