ANTHONY "TONY" DEL FRATE, age 55, of Aberdeen, MD, died on June 19, 2008 at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace, MD. Born in Havre de Grace, MD, he was the son of the late Julian Joseph and Rebecca Jane Wagner Del Frate. He was an alumnus of the University of Maryland College Park. He worked for Harford County Highways where he was Senior Inspector of Access and Utilities.
Tony was raised and spent the majority of his life on the Bush River. Being so close to the water he developed a love for boating and fishing, he even made his own fishing lures calling them, "Uncle Del's World Famous". Tony was the happiest surrounded by his family and was a devoted husband, proud father and a loving brother and uncle. He had a passion for cooking and his spaghetti sauce was well known among family and friends. Having a vast curiosity for how things work, he taught himself how to build and repair computers leading him to become his family's own personal "geek squad". In his spare time he loved to watch sports mainly the Terps, Orioles, and Ravens. He was also an avid reader who enjoyed curling up with a good science fiction book before going to bed at night. In addition to reading science fiction, he loved to watch science fiction shows such as Star Trek and Stargate. He had a love of music, he sang with Aberdeen High School All State Chorus and the Madrigal Singers when he was in school, and taught himself to play the acoustic guitar which then led to an electric guitar and much to the dismay of his parents the destruction of several stereo speakers when he used them as amplifiers.
Tony is survived by his wife, Carol A. Del Frate of Aberdeen, MD; two daughters, Andrea M. Del Frate of Towson, MD and Cassandra L. Del Frate of
Aberdeen, MD; a sister, Janine D. Lembo and her husband, Joseph, of Forest Hill, MD; a niece, Joanna R. Lembo of Gilbert, AZ; and godson and nephew, Philip A. Lembo of Forest Hill, MD.
