Annie Mae Stearn (nee Roope) passed away February 10, 2023. Born in Virginia on October 9, 1929, to the late John R. and Kathleen Roope. She has lived in Harford County since she was 7 years old. She was the wife of 60 years to the late Carl Allen Stearn, her childhood sweetheart, who died April 4, 2011. She attended Churchville Elementary School and graduated from Dublin High School in 1947, she also graduated from Bard-Avon Secretarial School of Baltimore in 1948. She was employed as a secretary until the birth of their children, never returning to work outside of the home. She devoted her time to activities of her husband and children. She was an active member of Bel Air United Methodist Church.
Annie loved and cared for everyone she met in life. She is survived by son, Ronald Stearn and wife Kathy of Forest Hill; Linda Blakely and husband Jack of Elkridge; four grandchildren, Chris Stearn and wife Kristen of Elkton, Matt Stearn and wife Kristin of Rising Sun, Heather Blakely and Heidi Smith and husband David of Columbia; and great granddaughters, Madelyn and Caroline Stearn of Rising Sun, Mia, Emi and Anna Smith of Columbia.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Thelma Seagle of Havre de Grace; daughter-in-law Linda Kay Stearn and her brother John Ray Roope, Jr.
