Annette Renard, age 71, of Bel Air, MD died on August 26, 2016 at her home. She was born in Jamestown, NY to Phillip Silman and Roslyn Marion Wingers and spent her early years in the Bronx, NYC. She moved to Maryland in 1961, graduating from Milford Mill HS in 1963. Annette earned her Bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland, and a Master of Science in Information Technology from American University. During the late 1970s and 80s, she was a substitute teacher at Edgewood High School, and then pursued a career with the U.S. Government as an Operations Research Analyst at Aberdeen Proving Ground before retiring in 2005.
A passionate lover of Bearded Collies, she was a longtime member of the National Capital Area Bearded Collie Association. She was also a part of the Flying Geese Quilt Guild, through which she won many awards for her colorful and inventive quilts. Annette was widely traveled, having visited all 50 states, more than 40 countries and 7 continents. An avid photographer, she loved taking pictures of her trips, beloved dogs, and her family.
Mrs. Renard is survived by her husband of 50 years, David E. Renard, with whom she celebrated their Golden Anniversary earlier in August. She is also survived by her children Michelle Renard Leipold (Wayne) of Midlothian, Virginia and Kenneth David Renard (Jennifer) of Abingdon, as well as her grandchildren, Cameron and Rachel Leipold and Nathan Renard.
