Anne Z. Nolan

Anne Z. Nolan, 96, of Joppa, MD passed away on January 4, 2016 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Lowell, MA, she was the daughter of the late Adam Zemitus and Anna Kasperavich, and wife of the late William James Nolan Jr. whom she married in 1943. Formerly of Cherry Hill, NJ, she graduated from high school in Forest City, PA and then attended nursing school at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. She moved to Joppa from New Jersey in 1966. She was a member of the Joppatowne Golden Agers and enjoyed her Monday Bridge Group at the Edgewood Senior Center. She also enjoyed gardening, going to yard sales and traveling with her husband after his retirement.

Mrs. Nolan is survived by her children, William James Nolan III and wife, Sandra, of Oklahoma City, OK, Flora Anne Brennan and husband, Donald, of Monte Serno, CA, Mary E. Smith and husband, Ronald, of Joppa, John P. Nolan and wife, Martha Roberts Nolan, of Takoma Park, Eileen P. Heilander and husband, Lawton Burrows, of Bear, DE, Catherine Nolan-Baer of Forest Hill and Peter G. Nolan and wife, Joann, of Atlanta, GA; sister, Laura LaGreca of Maywood, NJ; 13 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by her son-in-law, Daniel Baer; and her brothers, Joseph and Alfred Zemitus. She will be remembered for her love of life, her generosity of spirit, and for her love of her family and vast network of life long friends.
