Anne Smith Shanahan

Anne Smith Shanahan, age 83, of Forest Hill, Maryland passed away peacefully on September 12, 2021 at Morningside House of Satyr Hill in Parkville, Maryland. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of Julian and Anne (Phillips) Smith and wife of the late Daniel Joseph Shanahan Sr. Anne was a proud graduate of Towson High School and worked as a Baltimore County School Bus driver before working in the Insurance industry as an HR Supervisor. She was very active at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church for a long time and served on their Parish council. She was an enthusiastic member of the Red Hatters. Her family was the center of her life.

Anne is survived by her son, Dan Shanahan Jr. and his wife Kim; son in law, Mike Knott and his wife Donna; brother Michael Smith and his wife, Helen; grandchildren, Robert Shanahan and his wife Ella, Kelly Vest and her husband Andrew, Caitlin Shanahan, Brett Henninger and his wife Jackie, Daniel Knott, Jessica Knott and Tabitha Nielsen; and great grandchildren, Tucker and Lucas Shanahan, Brayden, Logan and Robert Henninger, Hailey Knott, Tripp and Blake Fahey, Austin Nielsen and Kylie Buehler.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Irene Knott.
