Anne Marie Rolfes

ANNE MARIE ROLFES, age 91, of Bel Air, MD, died on January 26, 2007, at Stella Maris Hospice, Timonium, MD. Born on July 3, 1915, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of Anthony Joseph and Magdalena Josephine Wurm Neyer and the wife of the late A. Herman Rolfes, who died December 31, 1994. They married in Baltimore on June 3, 1937. She graduated from Seton High School and in 1936, she completed studies at the St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing, and in which hospital she was employed for many years in the pediatric department. She was a faithful member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Forest Hill, MD, where she served for a time, as the first female Eucharistic minister. For the past three years, Mrs. Rolfes was a resident of Brightview Assisted Living Center of Bel Air, MD, where she was active until the week before her death.

Mrs. Rolfes is survived by her brother Gerard Neyer of FL; three children, Agnes Heeter and her husband, Ken, of Bel Air, MD, John Rolfes and his wife Mary of Chestertown, MD, and Marian Gallati and her husband, Paul of Newnan, GA; 13 grandchildren, Tony Heeter and his wife Kathy of Bel Air, MD, Loree Piche’ and her husband James of Abingdon, MD, Andy Heeter and his wife Melissa of Bel Air, MD, Karen Goodspeed and her husband Shawn of Perry Hall, MD, Pam Keffer and her husband Tim of Jacksonville, MD, John Rolfes II and his wife Tina of Timonium, MD, Michael Rolfes of Timonium, MD, Jennifer Forestal and her husband Joe of Ft. Mitchell, AL, Chris Gallati and his wife Alexis of Atlanta, GA, Jessica Gallati of Newnan, GA, Donald Preston of Stewartstown, PA, Dawn Sweager and her husband Dave of Shrewsbury, PA, Deanna Rachine and her husband Joe of Jacksonville, FL; and 20 great grandchildren. Also, daughter-in-law-Joan Rolfes of Ocean City, MD.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Rolfes was predeceased by her brothers, Paul, Father Eugene, and Thomas Neyer.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929, in tribute of her love and care of children.
