ANNA MARIE GILBERT SOUL, age 87, of Airville, Pennsylvania, formerly of Aberdeen, died peacefully, surrounded by her family at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and David Blake, on May 3, 2004. Born in Carsins Run, she was the daughter of the late Wade Bennett and Mary Magdeline Schantz Gilbert, and the wife of the late Frank Joseph Soul. She had retired in 1973 from Aberdeen Proving Ground/Edgewood Arsenal after 29 years of service where she worked as a supply clerk. She was a member of AARP. She loved her flowers and gardening and she enjoyed traveling.
Mrs. Soul is survived by two sons, Harry D. Gilbert and his wife, Shirley of Aberdeen; Franklin D. Soul and his wife, Janet of Aberdeen; one daughter, Mary Ann Blake and her husband, David of Airville, Pennsylvania; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by one brother, Bennett Wade Gilbert.
Pallbearers will be: Daniel Blake, Brian Beam, Daniel Gilbert, Michael Gilbert, Brandon Taylor, Albert Severn, III, and Ryan Blake. Honorary pallbearers will be: James Liller, Ed Knill, Charles Thompson, Lester Williams, Elwood Collar, Albert Cooper, Sydney Blake and Bruce Greer.
