Anna Lee Wood

Anna Lee Wood (nee Wood), 89, of Bel Air, MD has gone to be with the Lord on Monday, September 2, 2013. Born in Beartown, WV on September 26, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Grace White Wood. She graduated from Herndon High School and briefly attended West Virginia Wesleyan College. She was married in July of 1944.

Anna Lee was a quiet, private lady, but with a sweet disposition. She attended Calvary Baptist Church of Bel Air, MD. Gardening was her passion, as was caring for her family. She spent a lot of time participating in the various state and local organizations that care for the handicapped and mentally retarded citizens.

Anna Lee was predeceased by her husband, Benjamin Frederick Wood, Jr., originally from Crumpler, WV, on February 1, 2006. She is survived by her son Benjamin Frederick Wood, III of Abingdon and her daughter Mary Catherine Cox of Bel Air. She is also survived by her brother Kermit Wood and his wife, Ann, of Grandview, WV. She leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
