Anna Lee Skillman, age 89, of Joppa, MD passed away on August 26, 2018. Born in Konnarock, VA, she was the daughter of Oscar and Mamie Marianna (Sawyer) Henderson and wife of the late Walter Wolford Skillman. In the 1950's, she belonged to the Joppa Magnolia Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of Mountain Christian Church for 69 years. She loved to walk and was known as "The Walking Lady" in Joppatowne, and would talk to anyone. She saw the world through "rose-colored glasses" and saw the good in everyone. She enjoyed working word search puzzles, sitting on the porch waving to everyone that passed by. She also enjoyed traveling with relatives and her senior clubs, and going shopping.
Mrs. Skillman is survived by son, Gary B. Skillman and wife, Debbie, of Joppa; daughter, Debra R. Knaub and husband, Bradley, of Airville, PA; granddaughters, Cristy deGaray, Katie Knaub, and Dana Marchese; grandsons, Paul Skillman, Bradley Knaub, II, and John Darney, III; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, John, Roger, William and Daniel Henderson; sisters, Alice Shepherd and Karen Davenport.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by six siblings.
