Ann Rose Anderson

August 27, 1931 — June 1, 2009

Ann Rose Anderson, age 77, of Abingdon, MD, died June 01, 2009. She was the daughter of the late Dennis R. and Mary A. Bishop Hill. Mrs. Anderson lived in Harford County, Maryland all her life. In Bel Air High School, she majored in Home Economics. After graduating in 1949, she married and deeply loved her husband John W. Anderson, for 57 years, before his passing in 2007. They shared a full life of enjoyment with each other and their family. Mrs. Anderson was baptized in the Susquehanna River near Conowingo Dam in 1950. As members of the Conowingo Baptist Church, Mrs. Anderson followed Jesus' example of unconditional love that was the rock upon which they built their marriage. She loved working with young children and served as Preschool Director for many years at Conowingo Baptist Church, Bel Forest Baptist Church and, in later years, at Oak Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Anderson taught Sunday school for over 50 years.

Nothing gave Mrs. Anderson greater pleasure than spending time with her family. Any occasion was reason enough for a family get together. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed the time put into preparing it. The hours that followed were always full of fun and fellowship. Mrs. Anderson was clearly an amazing mother, putting her children's needs always before her own. She gave herself selflessly to them time and time again.

Mrs. Anderson is survived by her two sons, John W. Anderson Jr. and his wife, Cindy, of Joppa, and Richard D. Anderson and his wife, Debby, of Bel Air; two daughters, Roseann Cieri and her husband, Jack, of Harrisburg, Pa. and Rosemary L. Crowder and her husband, Phillip, of Bel Air; a sister Ruby Hagans of Newark Ohio and a brother Harold Jones of Abingdon; five grandchildren, Christine Sayers of Joppa, MD, Brian D. Anderson of Bel Air, MD, Leann Paradise of Rising Sun, MD, Kyle Anderson of Bel Air, MD and Robert Crowder of Bel Air, MD; and two great-grandchildren, Alex and Brooke Sayers of Joppa, MD.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one brother Timothy King and one daughter Melody Anderson.

Pallbearers will be Robert Bearsch Jr., Daniel Fields, Brian Anderson, Kyle Anderson, James Testerman and Thomas Walls.

Contributions may be sent to Oak Grove Baptist Church, 2106 Churchville Rd., Bel Air, MD 21015 or to Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
