ANN M. ROMAGNA, age 88, of Fallston, MD, died on April 19, 2007, at Hart Heritage, Inc., Street, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Conrad Julius and Anna Mary Telljohann Linz and the wife of the late Pasquale M. Romagna. She was the eldest daughter of a large family. Over the years, she helped to raise some of her younger brothers and sisters and worked in her mother’s family business “The Sacred Heart Bookshop” in Highlandtown during the 1950’s. She was employed part-time at Hochschild Kohn in Downtown Baltimore then later at Hutzlers, Harford Mall in Customer Service and the Paybill Office. In 1966 she began her running career coached by her husband, Pas, at the “Run for Your Life” (RFYL) series held in Towson, MD. She worked with Mr. Korpman, founder of RFYL, as a volunteer along with her husband. She represented Harford County in the Maryland Senior and U. S. National Senior Olympics. She consistently medaled in the 200M, 400M, and 800M events and won gold medals (age group titles) in the U.S. National Senior Olympics during 1987, 1989, 1991, 1993, and 1997. She was inducted into Harford County’s Renaissance All Sports Athletic Club’s Hall of Fame in 2005.
Mrs. Romagna is survived by one son, Ken Romagna and his wife Jean Romagna of Fallston, MD; one daughter, Anita M. Cox of Perry Hall, MD; five grandchildren, Cheryl and Paul Massarelli of Baldwin, MD, Barbara Crouse of Bel Air, MD and Shelly and Greg Young of Forest Hill, MD; four great-grandchildren, Christopher and Ryan Massarelli of Baldwin, MD and Autumn and Austin Young of Forest Hill, MD. She is survived by nine sisters and three brothers.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Romagna was predeceased by three siblings.
