Ann M. Cook, age 87, of Abingdon, MD passed away on August 1, 2018 at Greenfield Senior Living in Bel Air, MD. Born in Schuylkill Haven, PA, she was the daughter of William C. Miller and Violet Catherine (Winn) Miller, and was the wife of the late Richard Thomas Cook. She worked for the Ballistics Research Lab at Aberdeen Proving Grounds for 27 years as a computer specialist. She was a member of the Harford County Writers Group and enjoyed writing short stories and poems. She enjoyed gardening, horseback riding, traveling across country in their RV, bird watching and feeding wildlife in their backyard. Ann will be lovingly remembered for her devotion to her husband and her kind and gentle nature.
Mrs. Cook is survived by stepson, Jerry (Betty) Cook of Galax, VA; stepdaughter, Deborah (Tim) C. Farrand of Forest Hill; sisters, Violet Gambrill of Abingdon and Deborah Martin of Bel Air; granddaughter, Kimberly Wehner of Hertsville, NC; 2 great-grandchildren; 7 step grandchildren; 12 step great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Stephen Melfa; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her children, Michael Barlow and Lynn Melfa; and her brothers Frederick Miller and William C. Miller.
