ELIZABETH ANN GREER MILLS, a resident of Houston, Texas, passed away on February 16, 2003. She was born in February 1932, and died after a long illness, just short of her seventy-first birthday. She was a native of Bel Air, Maryland, but she lived much of her life in Columbus, Ohio and Louisville, Kentucky. She is survived by her husband, Roger E. Mills, of Houston, Texas; a son, Harold G. Mills of Ithaca, New York; a daughter, Julie Wray Herman and her husband, Paul S. Herman of Cypress, Texas; a sister, Eleanor Greer Robinson of Baltimore; four brothers Wiley W. Greer of Hockessin, Delaware; W. Eugene Greer of Carlisle, Pennsylvania; John N. Greer of Bel Air, Maryland; Robert D. Greer of Roseland, Virginia; two grandchildren, Edward A. Herman and Anne P. Herman, both of Cypress, Texas.
Ann Greer attended primary and secondary schools in Bel Air, graduated from Western Maryland College, and had a graduate degree from Ohio State University. She married Roger Mills in June 1958. She was employed for a period of 18 years as a nutritionist in the Child and Youth Project of the Department of Pediatrics, University of Louisville. She retired in 1994. She was active in Unitarian churches in the communities in which she lived, and served as Religious Education Director for Thomas Jefferson Unitarian Church, Louisville, Kentucky in the early seventies, and later on the Board of Trustees of that church.
Those who wish to remember her are invited to contribute to an agency devoted to the care and treatment of those who suffer from Alzheimer’s disease, or to the Unitarian-Universalist Church.
Her family joins in thanking all of the many people who gave such kind help and support during her illness. She was much loved by those who knew her, and she will be sadly missed.
