Anita Bertha Kellock, age 84, of Edgewood, Maryland passed away on March 18, 2021 at Hart Heritage Estates - Forest Hill in Forest Hill, Maryland. Born in Raab, Germany, she was the daughter of Josef Raab and Hedwig (Knoblauch) and wife of the late, Edwin L. Kellock Sr.. Anita met her husband in Germany while he was serving in the Army, fell in love, and moved to the U.S. with her husband in her early 20's. She had two children, a son and daughter whom she was very devoted to taking care of; especially her daughter who required special needs since birth. Despite the many challenges she faced with raising her children, Anita worked two part-time jobs. She was a hard worker who pushed herself beyond expectations because she enjoyed her work and helping others. Her first job was at Mossmillers Market IGA in Joppa for many years, preparing sandwiches and meals with a friendly smile. She was also extremely proud to have worked as a custodial worker at Mountain Christian Church for 26 years, where she was also a longtime member.
Anita enjoyed much of her time socializing with friends and family. She was particularly fond of attending church every Sunday, meeting once a month at the Young at Heart Senior Church Luncheons, and participating in their senior events and trips. In addition, she enjoyed watching television, attending Bible Study, and sharing the word of God with those who would lend an ear. Anita’s most precious gift was her vivid way of storytelling and reminiscing about her childhood, siblings, and her children. She had a unique way of drawing you in and bringing her wonderful stories to life. If you had the opportunity to speak with her, you were truly blessed and immediately felt like you were a part of her family.
Anita is survived by her dear church friends and caregivers, Debra and Edwin Torres, Sr. of Bel Air; her brother, Franz Raab; sister, Margareta (Raab) Ries; and many loved nieces and nephews: Sylvia Hedwig Maria (Fischer) Primorac, Karin Hermine (Fischer) Meindl, Wilhelm Franz Josef Raab, Alexander Maria Raab, Hubertus Maria Raab, and Michael Maria (Raab) Lindner, all who currently reside in her native country of Germany.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Edwin L. Kellock, Jr. and daughter, Margo Kellock.
Those who desire, in lieu of flowers, may send contributions to her church: Mountain Christian Church, 1824 Mountain Road, Joppa, MD 21085.
