Angela Stavrou Moore, age 67 of Bel Air, MD, warrior, food lover and selfless human passed away on June 20, 2017. She will always be known to her children and grandchildren as the world's greatest Yia Yia.
Angie could never let a great pun or a great opportunity to cook an amazing meal for her family (whether they were hungry or not) pass her by. She was born thirty seconds after her twin sister Nikki to a passionate Greek, Nickolaos Stavrou and a fierce Italian, Rose Stavrou. She became the funny and fearless big sister to her siblings Linda, Dorian, Aletha, Stephen and Mark.
She met her husband John Moore at the University of Maryland where they not only became proud Terp fans and alumni, but two of the most thoughtful parents of all time to their three exceptional children, Nicole, Stephen, and Andrew, where she instilled roots, relentless wit, and a lifetime love of the beach and all foods that include feta.
In addition to being the family's best chef, her perseverance as an advocate for children throughout her entire career as a social worker could earn her the status of a saint. And when her children got married to Travis, Katie, and Courtney, respectively, her angel wings only grew wider and she never treated them as anything less than her own children. But of all the joy of her world, it was her grandchildren, Lucy, Luke, Niko, Jake, Sophia, Micah, Max, Charis and Penny that stole her heart.
If someone could survive on their will to live alone, she would have lived forever, which her dear friends and family selfishly hoped would have happened. But what a time they had while she was here.
In lieu of flowers she would have wanted you to share a beautiful meal with your family.
