Andrew H. Lohr, Jr., 83, of Churchville, Maryland, peacefully passed away on April 17, 2024, with his wife, Zandra, at his side in the comfort of their home. He was born in Joppa, Maryland, to the late Andrew and Olga (Harmeyer) Lohr and was the devoted husband of Zandra (Price) Lohr for over 60 years.
Andrew was a lifetime farmer, he especially liked working with and fixing mechanical equipment. In 1964, he started a cider business, demonstrating his spirit and commitment to providing for his family, this is one of the many products Lohr’s is known for today. In 1998, he was named Farmer of The Year by Harford County Farm Bureau. He was actively involved in the agriculture community through International Apple, Peach Council, Maryland and Harford County Farm Bureau, and Maryland Horticulture Society. Andrew’s leadership extended beyond his endeavors, helping shape the industry into what it is today.
A lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Joppa, MD. Andrew’s life was guided by his faith and dedication to his community. His legacy of strength, resilience, and generosity will be cherished by all who knew him.
Andrew will be dearly missed by his loving family here, in Maryland and his extended family in Florida, where he spent his winters. His Daughters, Candace Lohr- (Darryl)Pearce and Tempalyn (George)Wiggins; his grandchildren, Angelyn, Alexandra, A.J.Wiggins, Noah, Elicia, and Brianna Pearce; as well as his nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
In addition to his parents, Andrew was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Rawhouser, and brother, George Lohr.
In honor of Andrew’s memory, contributions may be made to Mercy Ship or Trinity Lutheran Church, reflecting his lifelong commitment to helping others.
Memorial services and interment are set for Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Joppa, MD.
