Andrew Carmen Barilla, age 92, of Bel Air, Maryland passed away on June 3, 2022 at his home. Born in Syracuse, New York, he was the son of Fortunato and Caterina (Fiumano) Barilla. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served his country in the Korean War. He worked as an electrical engineer and was vice president of H.A. Harris General Contractors until his retirement in 1995. He began a second career at age 65, working as a building inspector with Harford County Public Schools, until his second retirement at the age of 90. He was a long-time parishioner, usher and committee member at St. Margaret Catholic Church.
Andrew is survived by his wife, Patricia (née Bender) Barilla; daughters, Christine (Edward) Nell, Patricia (Bradley) Kaplon, Kathryn (Neil) Beller, and Joan Barilla (Edward Gille); and son, Thomas Barilla; grandchildren, Megan, Lindsey, Elizabeth, Natalie, Andrew and Lukas; brothers, Peter Barilla and Pasquale “Pat” Barilla; and sister, Rena Gianquitti.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Dominick Barilla, Santo Barilla and Frank Barilla, and sister, Carmella Roth.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS.org) or St. Margaret Catholic Church, 141 Hickory Avenue, Bel Air, MD 21014.
The family respectfully asks for the use of masks in the church.
