America E. Martin

AMERICA E. MARTIN, age 82, of Abingdon, died in Mariner Health of Bel Air on April 19, 2004. Born in Warm Springs, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late John Lawrence, Sr. and Hattie Mae Cassell Rimel, and the wife of the late Clinton D. Martin. She had worked as an assembly line worker at the Bata Shoe Company. A resident of Harford County for 49 years, she enjoyed sewing, gardening, and her flowers.

Mrs. Martin is survived by four sons, Elija Martin of Rising Sun; Lawrence Martin, Sr. of Aberdeen; Robert Martin, Sr. of Winter Park, Florida; Dale Martin of Abingdon; two brothers, John Rimel, Jr. of Perryman; James Rimel of Aberdeen; one sister, Betty Jo Rimel of Orange County, California; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by one daughter, Anna Wassum.
