Alta O. Richardson

Alta O. Richardson, age 80, of Joppa, MD passed away on December 18, 2013 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air. Born on January 30, 1933 in Mouth of Wilson, VA, she is the daughter of the late Grover Marvin and Celia Jane Reedy Owen and wife of the late Clarence M. Richardson. An antique sales consultant, she was a past member of the Joppa Magnolia Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid reader, quite artistic and loved the outdoors gardening herbs and flowers. Family was important to Alta, she dispensed wisdom and knowledge to all, was a most forgiving and non-judgmental person and was willing to assist others in need, not asking for anything in return.

Mrs. Richardson is survived by her sons, Michael Richardson of Cedar, MI, Clark Richardson of Delta, PA and Reese Richardson of Joppa; daughters, Donna DeBoard of Delta, PA and Cecelia Bullock of Conowingo; sisters, Ruby Kilby, Violet Weaver and Stella Testerman, all of Virginia; 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers Earl, Blake, Lawrence and Gilbert Owen and grandson, Clark Harvey Richardson Jr.
