ALPHA MAE INGRAM SPRIGGS, age 78, of Joppa, went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on February 4, 2004. Born in Oakvale, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Henry Dewey and Lilly Mae Melvin Ingram. A homemaker, she was a member of the Edgewood Alliance Church in Edgewood. She had worked for Celeanse Manufacturing who made parachutes during the war, Epsteins Department Store in Highlandtown, Moses Kahn in Highlandtown, Food Fair in Bel Air and Pantry Pride in Bel Air. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her number one love was serving the Lord, then homemaking, gardening, and cooking.
Mrs. Spriggs is survived by her husband of 55 years, Marvin Warren Spriggs, Jr.; three brothers, Henry E. Ingram of Peterstown, West Virginia; Caudill C. Ingram of Princeton, West Virginia; Dale E. Ingram of South Carolina; six sisters, Jessie “Rosie” Hill of Princeton, West Virginia; Lucille B. Redpath of Radford, Virginia; Margaret E. Atkins of Pearisburg, Virginia; Ruth “Gladys” Hill of Peterstown, West Virginia; Betty Ann Burt of Springfield, Virginia; and Faye Hagar of Richmond, Virginia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William R. Ingram.
Pallbearers will be: Gary Holle, Keith Davis, Danny Edmonds, Gary Fillmore, Uwe Neumann and Curtis Durham.
