ALONZO ALLEN McCORMICK, age 73, of Edgewood, died at his residence on July 24, 2004. Born in Astoria, Illinois, he was the son of the late Ralph and Fern Marie Derry McCormick and the husband of Juana V. McCormick. A resident of Harford County for 40 years, he served his country in the U.S. Army for 20 years with two tours in Korea in the 24th Infantry Division. He earned the Combat Infantry Badge. He retired in June of 1971 from Aberdeen Proving Ground. He had worked for 15 years with the Federal Government as a communication technician. He was a member of V.F.W. Post 5337 and the American Legion Post 17.
Mr. McCormick is survived by five sons, Ralph McCormick of Joppa; James McCormick of Edgewood; Richard McCormick of Cape Coral, Florida; Alan McCormick of Edgewood; Robert McCormick of Edgewood; two daughters, Shirley Ann Brammer of Orlando, Florida; Juanita Bartenfelder of Joppatowne; three brothers, Dorvan McCormick of Illinois; Charles McCormick of Illinois; Gene McCormick of Texas; seven sisters, Virginia McCombs and her husband, Richard; Shirley Decroce and her husband, Jim; Margaret Hopping; Opal Phillips; Bernice Sharpe and her husband of Jim; Josephine James and her husband Bill; and Marjorie Sawin, all of Illinois; and ten grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Dwight McCormick; two half-brothers, Devere Derry; Otis Derry; and a sister, Beatrice McCormick.
