Alma Gail Thrush, age 90, resident of Awakenings, Bel Air entered her eternal home March 25, 2021. She was the beloved wife of James E. Thrush, who passed away in 2011.
She was born in Smithton, PA and was the daughter of Louis L. Barthels and Gail Barthels.
Alma is survived by a daughter, Linda Carpenter, and a son, James Mark Thrush. A son in law, Jim Carpenter and a daughter in law, Andreé Thrush. She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Shane Carpenter, Nicole Craul, and Christy Lynn Thrush, and her great grandchildren, Kyra and Ruby Craul, and Tristan, Jackson and Madison Carpenter.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Louis Blair and Jack Barthels, and Marilyn Barthels Mitchell.
She taught in Harford county at Bel Air Elementary and loved working with children. She was very active in her church at Upper Crossroads Baptist Church and served as a Sunday School teacher, nursery and Awana worker. She loved the Lord and was grateful for her salvation from her sins because she accepted Christ as her personal Savior.
