Allen A. Whitlock

Allen A. Whitlock, age 74, of Bel Air, MD, passed away on April 18, 2012 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Allen and Anna Elizabeth Waters Whitlock. Mr. Whitlock is survived by his wife, Roberta Jane Meyer Whitlock of Bel Air, MD; son, Rev. Guy T. Whitlock and wife, Michelle, of New Freedom, PA; daughter, Tracey Meise and husband, Doug, of Felton, PA; and six grandchildren, Briana, Austin, Noah and Laural Whitlock, Natalie and Kate Meise.

Allen received his MBA from Loyola College. He worked for AT&T for 30 years and retired to start his own business, Comprehensive Financial Concepts. Allen was active in community affairs, coaching youth sports teams, mentoring at-risk teens at Aberdeen High School, volunteering in Boy Scouts and as an officer in community associations. He served on the Foundation Board of Harford Community College and on the council of Bel Air United Methodist Church. His hobbies included duck carving, model trains and golfing. Allen was active in the Joppatowne and Bel Air Lions Clubs. He was responsible for fund raising for scholarships for diabetic children to attend Camp Possibilities in Darlington. He was also selected as one of Harford County's Most Beautiful People.
