Alice Freida Acerno

Alice Freida Acerno, age 66, of Joppa, MD, passed away on May 15, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Bella Gottschalk. A true New Yorker, it wasn't until her grandchildren were born that she moved to Maryland. She was fiercely devoted to her family and always worked hard to provide for her children. An avid reader and musician, she played the piano and accordion and participated in book club. She was a good cook, loved to play card and board games, enjoyed going to Atlantic City and volunteered for the Humane Society.

Mrs. Acerno is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Michael Acerno of Joppa, MD; sons, Peter and wife Kathy, of Leesburg, VA and Steven and wife, Anne, of Bel Air, MD; sister, Ruth Levy of Nyack, NY; and her six grandchildren, Erin, Sam, Audrey, Nora, Evelyn and Maeve.
