Alfred “Opa” Liebel, age 88, of Bel Air, Maryland passed away on June 4, 2022. Born in New York City, New York, he was the son of Emil and Anna (Bunk) Liebel and husband of the late Eugenia (Prybylski) Liebel and Mary Louise (Oney) Liebel. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was employed as a mail carrier for close to 30 years retiring in 1984. He loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed playing bridge and watching sports, especially the New York Yankees. He was also an avid chess player.
Alfred is survived by his children, Christina and Christopher Partoza, Jean-Marie Mackenzie (Richard) and Juliane Sutton (Randy); grandchildren, Christopher Conte, Dannielle and Joshua Stitely, Bailey Partoza, Janice Mackenzie and Chelsey Smullen; great-grandchildren, Jax Stitely and Cross Cohen; sister, Clara Horn; niece, Eleanor Spear; and nephew, Gordon Horn.
In addition to his parents and wives, he was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Weckowicz.
