Alfred "Don" McMillion

Alfred "Don" McMillion, age 85, of Havre de Grace, Maryland, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2024, at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Aberdeen, Maryland.

Born in Hillsboro, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Samuel and Arma (Cohernour) McMillion and the devoted husband of 56 years to Phyllis "Jane" (Wilfong) McMillion. Jane lovingly shared that Don was a wonderful husband and father.

A U.S. Army veteran, Don was a proud American who enjoyed working with his hands and took great joy in tinkering and fixing things. A simple man at heart, he preferred the plain and practical, taking pride in his cherished Chevy truck and his love for cats, especially his beloved "Little Cat." Since 1968, Don made Havre de Grace his home, where he touched the lives of many with his kindness and humility. His grandson Steven described him as the best person he ever knew, someone who left a profound impression on everyone he met. He was employed by Stancills Inc. for 45 years in Perryville,MD before his retirement in 2019.

Don is survived by his loving wife, Jane; his daughter, Melissa Ball; his grandson, Steven (Rhi) McMillion; and his great-granddaughter, Sophia McMillion. He is also survived by his sisters, Betty Blake, Sue Hime, Janet McMillion, and Margaret (Will) Webb; and his brothers, William "Bill" Henry (Karen) McMillion, Frank McMillion, Samuel "Ike" (Terry) McMillion, and Sandy Sam (Carol) McMillion. Don is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, and friends. 

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his son, Alfred Dale McMillion, who was born on December 22, 1969, and passed away on January 1, 1970.
