Alfred Campo

Alfred (Al) Campo, age 94, of Bel Air, MD, passed away on April 1, 2014 at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. Born in Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Giovanni and Angela Tornabene Campo. In 1939 he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served during WWII as a B24 Maintenance Instructor. He retired from the Air Force Reserves at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He moved to Baltimore in 1947 and worked at Bethlehem Steel as a draftsman and then at Western Electric for 23 years as an industrial engineer where he retired in 1980. His family moved to Fallston in 1965. For the last seven years, he lived in Bel Air with his wife. He was an active member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church and a former parishioner of St. Johns in Hydes and St. Marks in Fallston. He enjoyed golf, tennis, bowling, gardening and traveling. He most enjoyed being together with his wife, children and grandchildren. He had a strong devotion to God and volunteered at his parish.

Mr. Campo is survived by his wife of 57 years, Rose Restivo Campo; son, John Campo and wife, Christi, of Bel Air; daughters, Marie Kessler and husband, Gerald Boxer of VA and Arleen Watts and husband, Fred, of New Freedom, PA; and grandchildren, Andrew, Fred and Rebecca Watts, Scott, Ciana and Todd Campo. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Marie Rose Campo.
