Alfonse Rachel Schavittic

Alfonse Rachel Schavittic, age 89, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away on May 31, 2024, at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of the late Alfonse and Margaret (Fifer) Schavittic and was the beloved husband of Carolyn (Maskell) Schavittic.

Alfonse proudly served his country as a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was the proprietor of Titus Home Improvement Company, located in Bel Air, MD, where he showcased his exceptional craftsmanship and dedication to his trade. A devout Catholic, he found solace and community as a member of St. Stephens Catholic Church.

He possessed a remarkable talent for construction, having built numerous homes for his family throughout his younger years. Alfonse found joy in the simple pleasures of life, spending his days working around the house, tending to the lawn, and fixing things. He had a passion for classic cars, often buying and restoring old vehicles throughout his lifetime. An avid fan of war movies, he found entertainment and inspiration in their narratives.

Alfonse cherished his time spent with his beloved dogs, including a Bichon and an Australian Shepherd. He was a doting great-grandfather who delighted in playing with his grandchildren and creating cherished memories with them, often taking them on vacations.

In addition to his devoted wife, Alfonse is survived by his loving daughters, Kim Schavittic (Brian Freund) and Gina Weigman; his grandchildren, Corey Weigman, Terry Weigman, Brandon Freund, Derek Freund, and Staci Weigman; and his great-grandchildren, Alyssa Weigman, Aviana Weigman, Adelaide Weigman, and Seth Weigman.

In addition to his parents, Alfonse was preceded in death sisters, Betty Van Hoose, and Diane Mullins, and brother, Joseph Carey.
