Alexander Staten, Sr.

ALEXANDER STATEN, SR., age 76, of Abingdon, died in Upper Chesapeake Medical Center on November 25, 2003. Born in Wilmington, North Carolina, he was the son of the late John and Ella Stafford Staten. He had worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a maintenance supervisor. He was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church.

Mr. Staten is survived by his wife of 47 years, Elizabeth Sims Staten; two sons, Anthony Staten of Abingdon; Alexander Staten, Jr. of New York; one daughter, Tracey Ann Wilson of New York; and five grandchildren.
