Alden W. Hyde, age 80, of Bel Air, MD, died on October 30, 2010 at Gilchrist Hospice Center in Towson, MD. Born in Murray Harbour, Prince Edward Island, Canada, he was the son of the late Horace Hazard and Ella Beck Hyde. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served our country during the Korean Conflict. He retired, after 20 years, from Aberdeen Proving Ground where he was a Logistics Supervisor, and also worked for 20 years at Lehigh Portland Cement. He enjoyed tinkering around the house, helping his neighbors, and visiting his birthplace, Prince Edward Island, Canada.
Mr. Hyde is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy Elaine Hyde of Bel Air, MD; sons, Kevin Alden Hyde and wife, Shawn, of Delta, PA, Gordon Louis Hyde and wife, Laurie, of Harrington, DE; and Brian Lester Hyde of Bel Air, MD; and nine grandchildren, Erin Marie, Kevin Daniel, Clinton, Sarah, Kyle, Matthew, Nicholas and Steven Hyde, and Connor Greenlee. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Julian Hyde.
