Albert Francis Wolford

Albert Francis Wolford, age 78, of Joppa, MD passed away on January 1, 2013 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Hancock, MD, he was the son of the late Earnest N. and Gladys Virginia Shives Wolford and husband of the late Hazel Louise Wolford. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he worked as a foreman for Bethlehem Steel from where he retired after 40 years of service. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and was very active with the VFW in Joppa, serving as Trustee and Guard.

Mr. Wolford is survived by his daughters, Tammy G. Birkmaier and husband, Andrew Tolan, of Joppa and Penny L. Hoban and husband, Patrick of Forest Hill; brother, Herbert Wolford of Parkville; sister, Betty Hurst of Beltsville; five grandchildren, Steven Birkmaier, Michele Winkler, Courtney Butler, Chad Butler and Dylan Hoban; and great-grandson, Gabriel Winkler.
