Albert Anthony Neville Sr., age 82, of Abingdon, MD passed away on April 30, 2013 at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Joseph and Ada Roxanne Gosnell Neville. He was a 1949 graduate of Mount Saint Joseph High School and was inducted into the Mount Saint Joe Hall of Fame in football, baseball, and basketball in 1989. Later, he was signed with the New York Giants baseball team as a pitcher. A resident of Harford County for 55 years, he opened Bel Air Sporting Goods Store in 1957 which he owned and operated for 25 years. Known as the "Glove Doctor", he was an expert in stringing racquets and gloves. He also coached for the Boyle Buick Girl's Softball Team. He was a master of details and also enjoyed working crossword puzzles.
Mr. Neville is survived by his sons, Albert Neville Jr. of Fallston, MD; David Neville of Bel Air, MD; John Neville of Bel Air, MD; Joseph Neville of Forest Hill, MD; daughters, Gayle Blum of Boring, MD, and Teresa Anderson of Prince George, VA; sisters, Evelyn Finkner of Catonsville, MD, and Marie Bowersox of Catonsville, MD; 22 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and former wife, Frances Neville. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Robert Neville and two grandsons: Jared Neville and Justin Dornbusch.
